Drilling and Completion Fluids Laboratory Technician
Responsibilities:
- Monitors the operation, maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
- Performs advanced additive selection and design of fluids in assigned sub segment and recommends solutions to improve the process.
- Supervises personnel to ensure equipment is clean and in proper working condition, ensures clean, orderly and safe working conditions and supervises the proper disposal of lab waste.
- Assists the laboratory manager.
- Performs risk analysis and identifies and addresses potential safety hazards. Corrects and report hazards immediately.
- Prepares presentations for internal and external customers.
- Complies with all HS&E and Quality and IT standards and policies.
- Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and keeps required HS&E and SQ certifications up-to- date.
- Mentors and coaches less experienced personnel, monitors their development and acts as a role model for lab personnel.
- Performs regular audits to ensure the lab is operating as per standard, prepares and follows up on the action plans as a result of the audit.
- Develops an advanced understanding of knowledge management tools.
- Assists engineers with technical support as required.
- Participates in HS&E and Quality initiatives and programs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma degree in engineering degree preferably with Mechanical background
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Lab Technician in Drilling Fluid – especially handling lab equipment, calibration and its maintenance.
- Fluent in English and ability to communicate in regional languages is an asset
- Ability to understand documentation covering a broad range of domains (hardware, software, services – Microsoft products: Excel, Words, PowerPoint, Teams, etc
